FAQs

Q. Can I use my Locals Care Community Card without registering it?
A. Yes, but you must register your Locals Care Community Card with your personal contact information in order to redeem the accumulated Community Points from your Locals Care purchases and to choose a nonprofit to benefit.

Your Locals Care card is activated the first time it’s used, and you’ll begin earning Community Points with your first purchase. However you must register your card in order to be able to redeem reward points and designate a nonprofit organization to benefit from your purchases. You must also be registered to view your account summary and account detail online.

Q. I forgot to bring my card to the store. Can you look up my Community Card number?
A. Yes. If you have registered your card and included your phone number, simply tell the clerk your phone number, and your rewards will be credited to your account.

Q. I forgot to show my card at the store the last time I shopped. Can I still earn Community Points for that purchase?
A. No. You must present your card or your phone number at the time of purchase.

Q. If I lose my Locals Care Community Card, do I lose my points?
A. Unfortunately, yes. Please treat your Community Card as you would cash – keep it in a safe place. If you lose your card, we encourage you get a new one and register it as soon as possible.

Q. Can I earn Community Points for every purchase?
A. Qualifying purchases vary by merchant. A Locals Care participating business may choose to exclude specific merchandise or sale items. A restaurant may limit Locals Care purchases during specific days and times. In most cases, your Locals Care card can’t be combined with other discounts.

To be sure that a purchase qualifies, ask the business before presenting your Locals Care Community Card.

Q. How do I redeem Community Points?
A. Each time you present your Locals Care Community Card or participating bank card for a qualifying purchase and the card is swiped by the merchant, you earn Community Points. When you have generated $10 for charity, you earn a $10 credit, which you can “spend” at any Locals Care business. Community Points are usually available for you to redeem for purchases the following day.

Q. How can I verify that my purchase earned Community Points?
A. Your sales receipt will show the number of community points your purchase earned. If you have registered online, you can also check your Locals Care purchases, Community Points balance, and donation amounts on our website.

Q. Can I get duplicate Locals Care Community Cards for other family members?
A. Your Locals Care Community Card is nontransferable. Only one card exists per account. Family members may register their own card and receive the full benefits on qualifying purchases.

Q. Can I designate more than one nonprofit organization?
A. No. Each Locals Care Community Card is linked to a single nonprofit organization.

Cards received at merchant locations are directed to the community fund until the cardholder selects the nonprofit organization when he or she registers the card online.

Q. Do my Community Points expire?
A. Yes. If you don’t use your accrued Community Points within 18 months, the points will expire.

Q. What happens if I return an item that I purchased using my Locals Care Community Card?
A. The amount of Community Points that you earned with the purchase will be debited from your Locals Care account.
