Q. What are the requirements for becoming a Locals Care nonprofit
partner?
A. Locals Care partners with organizations that focus on programs that benefit
children, in education, and the arts. To qualify, the organization must have a
501(c)(3) designation. Each of our nonprofit partners is considered on a
case-by-case basis and program participation is tailored individually for each one.
Q. How do cardholders know which nonprofit organizations are included
in the program?
A. An updated list of Locals Care participating nonprofit organizations and
businesses is provided on our website. A list of participating nonprofit
organizations is also included on marketing materials distributed with the
Locals Care Community Card.
Q. Are there any costs to nonprofit organizations to participate in
the Locals Care program?
A. There are no direct costs to our nonprofit partners. We encourage participating
nonprofit organizations to “get the word out” to their supporters.
Q. How will my organization be able to measure Locals Care donations?
A. When the quarterly payments are generated by ACH to your organization’s
account, you’ll be sent information detailing the distribution amount for
your organization.
Q. Can a cardholder designate more than one nonprofit organization
on his/her card?
A. No. Each Locals Care Community Card and bank credit or debit card is linked
to a single nonprofit organization.
Cards received at merchant locations are directed to the community fund until the cardholder selects the nonprofit organization when he or she registers the card online or by mail.
Q. Can a cardholder change the nonprofit organization?
A. No. If a cardholder wants to change his or her designated nonprofit organization,
s/he can pick up another Locals Care card and choose a different nonprofit to
benefit.
